We must do something

Not only one time, we moved to tears, sorrow and regret filled up heart.

What shall we do, beside donation, to send out condolences and let them lie in peace in heaven?

Be strong to overcome our weaknesses and work hard to be strong again.

Steps to persuade people get rid of smoking

Steps to persuade people get rid of smoking (Personal advice originated from website reading notes)(http://www.wikihow.com/Persuade-Someone-to-Quit-Smoking)

1-      Show that you are worried about he/her healthy so that you come to persuade him\her to quit smoking;

2-      Mentioning the harm of passive smoking and how people who smokes might hamper the health of other innocent people around him\her; and cite the figure that there are half a million deaths related to second-hand smoking;

3-      Be patient, ask smokers to quit smoking in a gradual process; first eliminate the places to smoke stop smoking in public places, and then reduce the amount of cigarette consumed each day;

4-      Find something interesting or hobby to resist the impulse of holding a cigar in hand; such as stamp collecting, tea tasting, draw a picture, plant some flowers, groom a dog, play some ball games;

5- Be supportive and give positive feedbacks constantly, pay compliment whenever you see him\her making a progress and don’t too critical or furious when smokers worsen his\her habits.

I hope all my friends are out of reach by cigarettes.

The fishes died

It is obvious that why the fish died.

Because of the booming tea business in this town, the traffic was jammed. I took this advantage of opportunity to walk along the "street", hoping to finding something interesting. Luck enough, I got this picture, with which I would rather seriously demonstrate to others that think twice before you eat fish~

Fancy Sissy

Accidentally, I come across the music of SISSY, a fantastic music band with electronic features. Their music will certainly serve as a mood-reminder of the time when I first heard them~~~

Here are some comments from the internet.

"Sissy is a Toronto duo consisting of producer David Trusz and the vocalist Johanne Williams. Trusz and Williams represent Canada's latest electronic music export, and they are on an assignment to struggle against the digital revolution. Sissy's debut album, All Under, is out now on GU Music, a fantastic CD that features 11 ambient, pop, trip-hop and down tempo tracks, a lush journey through sounds."——<By Dragos Rusu >

"Lined with dark and moody foundations, distinctive vocals and clever songwriting, "All Under" is one of electronic pop music's most exciting new releases."

Welcome to Xishuangbanna Tropical and Botanical Garden (XTBG)

Mysterious, humid and charming are the impressions XTBG gave me during the last staff sports meeting there. Actually it was not as mysterious or charming as my expectation, still, it's worthing visiting. No matter what kind of definition you would like to bestow to XTBG, it's up to you to explore it yourself.

During the sports meeting, we fight united together against all those who boast invincible. Although some quote their justification that friendship outweigh championship, you can tell its kind of hypocrisy. The creed I would like to express is "Let's spare no effort even if we know we are not necessarily going to win." Isn't it cool~

Music recommendation-Wild poppy(野罂粟-姜昕)

I first heard of this song through the radio broadcast in Beijing Music Radio FM97.4 on June 23rd, 2006. It was used as a background music in an essay "Tonight, we depart"(告别就在今夜). It didn't strike me as much at that time because I was both in a hurry to go to Shanghai and rather tired, hence no time left for being sentimental. The song Wild poppy was kind of a mixture of melancholy, psychodelic(迷幻的) and still showing a lovely melody, and it stirred me much thoughts associated with then, when I departed Beijing....

The advantages of being stupid

1 Stupid people have low expectations.

So they don't have to care too much about disappoint other folks.

2 Stupid way of thinking tend to create original ideas.

As they sometimes don't think in an organized manner, creativity can be noticed.

3 Stupid people can easily entertain oneself without much worries.

They are the ideal example to represent the saying that happiness lies in contemtment.

4 Stupid people tend to be hard working through a step by step route, which is generally despised by those so called "brilliant".

So I am released to see that my stupidity may sometimes be a blessing in disguise, and I  am prepared to learn the strenths from both "the clever" and "the stupids".

And from what I kown about this topic, the widely use of pesticide can be easier to be removed from the surface of vegetable than the residue in animal's meat.

Acting on an impulse, I decied to be vegetarian in a very short period of time. So, don't attempt me to eat meat~ and  welcome your supervision!

Faithfulness versus conscience (Speech draft for2006-5-13 with some post-comments)

Do you like steamed bread? Do you still remember the murder case triggered by a steamed bread?(一个馒头引发的血案) Yes, with its Chinese name mantou, I am going to begin my story with it, but certainly without any bloody murder cases.

I was having my lunch in the canteen with an innocent looking at those passers-by, trying to detect something interesting. Suddenly, I noticed a steamed bread dropped from the counter, hardly before it stabilized on the dirty floor, a delicate-shaped hand grasped it and put it back into the basket, then it waited quietly for the next customer to buy.

At that moment I thought to myself that the boss should be very proud of this employee who had such an excellent command of the principle of “budget control” and put it in earnest practice.

Just when I was still envy at the boss, he appeared. He went straight to the booth and asked for a steamed bread. Because the serving staff was not fixed to any one window during the busy hours, rare occurrence occurred, another worker gave him the exact steamed bread that had fallen.

Thanks goodness! The lucky boss did not realize that he had won such a prize, if he did, he would sure to feel angry at this disgusting behaviour.

I too, was rather lucky to have witnessed such a ridiculous scene. It was a matter of faithfulness versus conscience. For being faithful and having a clear conscience are both vital components to a righteous personality, so it is not reasonable to consider one aspect while neglecting the other. However, as I hate to mention this, that people, nowadays tend to sacrifice their own conscience so as to please their superiors.

Think about it my friends! How many times are there when we did something against our better judgment for the sake of being an obedient subordinate?

How many times are there when we know the best way to do something but abandoned our ideas because afraid of irritating our employers?

How many times are there when we know our supervisor was doing something rather stupid yet we kept silent in an attempt to be more collaborative?

The answers, lie in our deepest heart. After experiencing this episode, I am glad to say that if I could find adequate evidence to prove my ways of doing experiments are better than my teacher’s , I am sure to embark on an argument with him. For I know, being absolutely obedient does not necessarily mean faithfulness, and faithfulness can never be achieved without the engagement of a clear conscience.

Chance are like illusions if you don not grasp it

It should be a tight schedule this week,  being ambitous and at loss at the same time when considering going back Kunming.
Heart was settled at ease when the request to boss was turned down, time suddenly appeared adequate to finish a big course in the coming May Day--finish the homeworks, prepare for the coming exams and meeting friend from far away...Still there is the slim chance of applying for the TA in Shanghai, I don' t want let it slide like illusions after idle away all the precious times~

Chanllenged and bewildered in mood is really bad~

Planning for the future cannot to too detailed

I bought a book which was from the BLOG of 潘石屹,today I read some lines.

He said doing too detail work prevented his cherish of dreaming.

Indeed, I simply agree with this claimation that it is quite unnecessary to plan one's future with too detailed anticipation!

Planning for the future is an essential characteristic in achieving career success,

BUT:
1-Getting involved too concrete may hamper the process of realizing one's dream in an innovative way.

2-Anticipating things from a narrow perspective would jeopardize one's overall orientation-holding capacity;

3-Immerging only in a fixed area would led to people‘s inability to imagine the things outside that field.

When we are strong, whey will show their respect naturally

Last Friday, I went to the English Corner in Renmin University. Not only had I successfully practiced my prepared sentences of the "comparative cost principle ",once again, I gathered my confidence in speaking in English.

Maybe I talked to much, a guy who remain silent since the begining caught my attention, though he was in dark suit and stand in the dark side of the square.

Our topic started from the Anti-japanese sentiments.

He works for a Japanese company, perhapes his view would somehow reflect what the Japanese really think. Anyhow, I was deeply astonished when he said,"When we are strong enough, whey will show their respect naturally!"

Living in this cruel world, only the strongest that will survive ! No wonder the Japanese show little respect to us, if we China someday become strong enough, there would be no such story of Anti-japanese sentiments, I am sure.

On 8 May, I am not going to send any greetings to my female friends

In my opinion the celebration of Women's Day is a discrimination of the female gender. People should be aware of the fact that this day was intended to memorize the liberation activities that women fight for there equal socail status.

Whether or not of they have gained what they want, the existence of the Women's Day could merely reminds us that the females are still not being treated well enough, however, this is not at all the case nowaday. At least, it has been improved a great, though can not be compared with those days in maternal society.

Perhaps it could possibly be served as a memorandom that female friends should treasure what they enjoy now in our society.Anyhow happy Women‘s day!

Sudden comprehension of the truth

Sometimes in life, the destiny likes to play triks with people. The more you desire to possess
something ,the more difficult for you to done it. In this case, the featherwit faces a hard time
extricate himself from the that difficult situation, the wise, however, begins to let things silde, and never force anything that does not belong to him.

In a sense, we should learn from that woodman, when we encounter something overwhelmingly frustrating, do not complain against heaven, just tranquillize our hearts and let things silde, and we may be hit upon by the sudden comprehension of the truth.

Why I choose to on the water waggon?

So far as my practice of abstinence is concerned, although I am not as promising as that general, and no one had ever scolded me of my misbehaviours, I am still obstinately believe that the abandon of this habit is justified, not only good for my health, but also nice for me to practice my perseverance and determination.

And I am fully prepared to sacrifice those fair-weather friends who see no points in this practice at any moment.

Exams to come soon

Still 4 subjects to be challenged, although I am not born to cater for the pleasure bring about by examinations, something should have been down before this semester ends. Installing Linux system on my PC is just one of these, and I made it.

Some how I don't quite get used to this "Ubuntu",which designed for 64-bitPC, maybe it is not the optimal one foir me...Just like the one who expressed inclination & willingness to spend time with me.

New year resolution

No 1-Overcome procrastination.

No 2-Accumulate capabilities to react positively to adverse situations.
